Varun Abhyas 2023

• The second phase of the 21st edition of Exercise Varun 2023 was conducted in the Arabian Sea.

• The second phase of the India-France bilateral naval exercise-Varuna 2023 was held in the Arabian Sea.

• The first phase of Exercise Varun was conducted off the western seaboard of India from 16 to 20 January 2023.

• The 21st edition of Exercise Varuna marks the 25th year of the India-France strategic partnership.

• Bilateral naval exercises between the Indian and French navies began in 1993. Later, in 2001 the practice was named "Varuna".
