Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Air India

  • The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Air India for not following the rules.
  • On November 22, DGCA has imposed fine on Air India for the second time for not following compensation rules.
  • In May and September 2023, the DGCA had inspected domestic flight operators at Delhi, Kochi and Bengaluru airports.
  • Its purpose was to find out whether the airlines were following DGCA rules related to passenger amenities or not.
  • During the inspection, it was found that Air India Airlines was not following the provisions given in the DGCA rules.
