Successful test of anti-ship missile

• Indian Navy successfully completed the guided flight test of the first indigenously developed Naval Anti-Ship Missile from Sea King 42B helicopter in collaboration with Defense Research and Development Organisation.

• This is an important step towards achieving self-reliance in specific missile technology.

• The missile integrates various advanced technologies including an indigenous launcher for the helicopter and guidance system with state-of-the-art navigation and integrated avionics.

• The range of this missile is about 500 kilometers, which is more than the range of 350-400 kilometers of the Russian cruise missile BrahMos.
