New Managing Director of State Bank of India

• Vinay M. Tons has been appointed Managing Director of State Bank of India.

• He has been appointed as the Managing Director of State Bank of India till 30 November 2025.

• The post was vacant since June following the appointment of Swaminathan Janakiraman as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank.

• Swaminathan Janakiraman served as the Managing Director of State Bank of India from January 2021 to June 2023.

• The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommends directors of state-owned banks and financial institutions.
