  • International Customs Day is celebrated every year on 26 January to highlight the contribution of customs officials and agencies.
  • The Customs Co-operation Council (CCC) officially declared this date as International Customs Day in 1953.
  • The session was inaugurated in Brussels, Belgium. In that session, participants were from seventeen European countries.
  • In 1994 the Customs Co-operation Council (CCC) was renamed the World Customs Organization. Currently it has 182 member countries across the world.
  • The World Customs Organization is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Ian Saunders is its General Secretary.
