- Amid security concerns, Indian and Sri Lankan ships arrived in Maldives to participate in the trilateral coast guard exercise 'Dosti 16'.
- Two Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships – ICGS Samarth and ICGS Abhinav are taking part in this exercise.
- Sri Lanka has dispatched SLNS Samudra to participate in the biennial trilateral exercise.
- The main objective of the exercise is to strengthen friendship, enhance mutual operational capability and practice interoperability.
- It will enhance cooperation between the coast guards of India, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
- Exercise 'Dosti 16' will be conducted from 22 to 25 February.
