Operation Sankalp

• The maritime security operation 'Operation Sankalp' was conducted from 14 December 2023 to 23 March 2024.

• During this period, the Indian Navy played an important role as a 'first responder' and 'preferred security partner' in the Indian Ocean region.

• The Indian Navy conducted maritime security operations in three areas of operations: Gulf of Aden and surrounding areas, Arabian Sea and off the east coast of Somalia.

• During this operation, 5000 personnel have been deployed in 450 ship days.
