Joint Military Exercise Nomadic Elephant

• The 'Nomadic Elephant' exercise began in Umroi, Meghalaya on 3 July.

• This is the 16th edition of the India-Mongolia joint military exercise Nomadic Elephant.

• It is a two-week training program that will end on 16 July.

• It aims to improve communication between the troops of the two countries in semi-conventional operations in semi-urban and mountainous areas.

• Every year, this training program takes place alternately between Mongolia and India.

• The fifteenth edition of this program took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2023.
