  • The two Indian male shuttlers with historically best results in the Olympic men's singles badminton competition are Parupalli Kashyap (London 2012) and Kidambi Srikanth (Rio 2016).
  • Kidambi Srikanth and Parupalli Kashyap reached the quarter-finals.
  • On August 4, Sen will play against either Loh Kean Yew of Singapore or Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the semi-finals.
