- The 10th edition of the Mitra Shakti exercise began at the Army Training School in Maduru Oya, Sri Lanka.
- It is an India-Sri Lanka joint military exercise. It is to be held from 12 to 25 August 2024.
- The Indian contingent consists of 106 personnel. The Indian contingent is represented by a battalion of the Rajputana Rifles and other personnel.
- Personnel from the Gajaba Regiment of the Sri Lankan Army are representing the Sri Lankan contingent.
- Mitra Shakti exercise is an annual training event. It is held alternately in India and Sri Lanka.
