New head coach of junior men's hockey team

  • Following India's bronze medal win at the 2024 Olympics, Hockey India (HI) has announced that retired goalkeeper PR Sreejesh will become the next chief coach of the junior men's hockey team.
  • PR Sreejesh had announced his retirement from the sport after the Paris Olympics.
  • The Indian goalkeeper's stellar performance helped India beat Spain 2-1 to win the bronze medal for the second time in a row.
  • In 2017 he received the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, and in 2021 he was honoured with the Khel Ratna, the country's highest sporting honour.
