Sumit Antil and Bhagyashree Jadhav

• Reigning javelin throw champion Sumit Antil and leading shot put athlete Bhagyashree Jadhav have been named as India's flag-bearers during the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympics 2024.

• The Paralympic Games, to be held from August 28 to September 8, will be held at the same venues where the Olympics concluded in the French capital on August 11.

• India is sending its largest-ever Paralympic contingent to Paris 2024 with 84 athletes, to compete in 12 sports.

• This is significantly higher than the 54 participants who represented the country in Tokyo.
