- India has added three new Ramsar sites to the wetland network.
- With this, the total number of Ramsar sites in India has increased to 85.
- Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary and Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu have been added to the list of Ramsar sites in India.
- Tawa Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh has also been added to the list of Ramsar sites in India.
- By June 2024, there were a total of 82 Ramsar sites in India.
