National Unity Day

• National Unity Day is celebrated on 31 October in India.

• It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel.

• It was started by the Government of India in 2014.

• On the eve of National Unity Day, Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda administered the National Unity Pledge.

• Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in the national integration of independent India.
