- The first edition of the joint table top exercise Sinbex between the Indian Army and the Cambodian Army began in Pune on Sunday.
- The exercise will be conducted from 1 to 8 December 2024.
- The Cambodian Army contingent consists of 20 soldiers and the Indian Army contingent also consists of 20 soldiers from an Infantry Brigade.
- The exercise will also showcase Indian weapons and equipment which will promote 'self-reliance' and indigenous capabilities in defence production.
- Sinbex is a planning exercise aimed at conducting combat exercises of joint counter-terrorism (CT) operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.
- The exercise will be conducted in three phases.
- The first phase will be about the preparation and orientation of the participants for CT operations during UN peacekeeping missions.
