- Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah of the South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) party has won Namibia's 8th presidential election.
- She received more than 57% of the vote. Her closest rival Panduleni Itula received 26% of the vote.
- Nandi-Ndaitwah is currently serving as Vice President.
- She has been a key figure in Namibian politics since the country gained independence from South Africa in 1990.
