- Naval exercise between India and Sri Lanka, SLINEX 24, was conducted at Visakhapatnam from 17 to 20 December 24.
- It was conducted in two phases under Eastern Naval Command.
- The harbour phase was conducted from 17-18 December 24 and the sea phase from 19-20 December 24.
- In SLINEX 24, INS Sumitra participated from Indian side and SLNS Sayura from Sri Lanka Navy side.
- The opening ceremony of the exercise was held on 17 December 24. The sea phase commenced on 19 December 24.
