- Gukesh won the 18th World Chess Championship by defeating China's Ding Liren in the final and 14th match of the FIDE World Chess Championship in Singapore.
- The 18-year-old talented player from India scored 7.5 points while Ding got 6.5 points.
- Out of a total of 14 matches, Gukesh won three. Ding won two. The remaining nine matches were draws.
- Gukesh broke the previous record of Garry Kasparov.
- Garry Kasparov became the World Chess Champion at the age of 22.
