New BCCI secretary and treasurer

• Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia were elected unopposed as BCCI secretary and treasurer respectively.

• Outgoing joint secretary Saikia was the lone candidate. Bhatia, who has previously served as a councillor, was also the lone candidate.

• Election officer A.K. Jothi appointed them as office bearers at the BCCI Special General Meeting on January 12, 2025.

• The election was necessitated as Jay Shah and Ashish Shelar had to vacate their posts.

• Jay Shah resigned on November 30 before taking over as International Cricket Council president on December 1.
