Amravati airport inaugurated

  • On April 16, the Chief Minister also flagged off a flight between Amravati and Mumbai under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik).
  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis also announced that the Flying Training Organisation (FTO) to be set up in Amravati city of Vidarbha will train 180 pilots every year through its fleet of 34 training aircraft.
  • It will be the largest pilot training institute in South East Asia.
  • The FTO will have the capacity to train thirty thousand pilots and will boost economic activity and employment generation in the Vidarbha region.
  • The number of airports, flights and air routes have almost doubled in the last 10 years of the NDA government.
