Army AFMS Recruitment 2025: The Indian Army has started the application process for the recruitment of Medical Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). The recruitment is for the Short Service Commission (SSC), and both male and female candidates can apply.

Applications must be submitted online only on the official website join.afms.gov.in. The registration process starts on April 19, 2025, and the last date to apply is May 12, 2025. This recruitment drive will fill up 400 Medical Officer posts—300 for male candidates and 100 for female candidates. Army AFMS Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply must meet the following conditions:

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed your final MBBS (Part I and II) exam in not more than two attempts. You should have also appeared for the NEET PG exam in either 2023 or 2024. If you already have a postgraduate degree, you do not need to take NEET PG again. Your earlier NEET PG score will be used.
• Registration: You must have permanent registration with any State Medical Council, National Medical Commission (NMC), or Medical Council of India (MCI).
• Internship: You must have completed your internship on or before March 31, 2025.

Age Limit

The maximum age allowed is based on your qualification:

• If you have an MBBS degree, you must be 30 years old or younger as of December 31, 2025 (i.e., born on or after January 2, 1996).
• If you have a PG degree, you must be 35 years old or younger as of December 31, 2025 (i.e., born on or after January 2, 1991).

Selection Process for Army AFMS Recruitment 2025

The selection will be done in three stages:

Shortlisting for Interview:

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their NEET PG percentile score.
• This score will be converted into a score out of 200 to create a merit list.
• Separate lists will be prepared for male and female candidates.
• Up to eight times the number of vacancies will be called for interview.

Interview:

• Interviews will be held at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt starting from June 19, 2025.
• A panel of officers will assess your communication skills, personality, and suitability for a career as a Medical Officer.
• First-time interview candidates will be reimbursed travel fare (3rd AC rail or Non-AC bus).

Medical Examination:

• Candidates who qualify in the interview will undergo a Special Medical Board.
• If declared ‘UNFIT’, you may apply for Appeal Medical Board and, if needed, a Review Medical Board.

Final Merit List

• To qualify, candidates must score at least 50% marks in the interview.
• Final selection will be based on the combined total of your NEET PG score (out of 200) and interview marks (out of 50).
• Candidates who are found medically fit will be offered joining letters as per the number of vacancies.

Salary and Benefits for Army AFMS Recruitment 2025

• Basic Pay: ₹61,300 (as per Defence Pay Matrix Level 10B)
• Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500
