DRDO successfully test fired glide bomb 'Gaurav'

  • DRDO successfully test fired long range glide bomb 'Gaurav' from Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft.
  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test fired long range glide bomb Gaurav from Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft from April 8 to 10.
  • During the trials, the weapon was integrated in multiple stations in different warhead configurations and was also tested against a land target on an island.
  • The trials successfully demonstrated accuracy up to a range of about 100 km.
  • Research Centre Imarat, Armament Research and Development Establishment and Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha have indigenously designed and developed the 1000 kg class glide bomb Gaurav.
