President Draupadi Murmu honoured with 'City Key of Honour' of Lisbon

• On April 7, 2025, President Draupadi Murmu was conferred the prestigious ‘City Key of Honour’ of the City of Lisbon by the Mayor of Lisbon during a formal ceremony at the historic City Hall of Lisbon.

• The “Key to the City” is the highest honour conferred by the City of Lisbon.

• This is the first State visit by an Indian President to Portugal in 27 years, the last being President K R Narayanan’s visit in 1998.

• President Murmu is on a historic four-day State visit to Portugal and Slovakia from April 7 to 10.

• The visit comes during a momentous year when India and Portugal are celebrating 50 years of formal diplomatic relations, evolving into a visionary, multifaceted partnership.
