RRB ALP Recruitment 2025: Good news for the candidates who missed ALP recruitment or failed in RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam last year, Indian Railway has approved 99o0 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALPs). The official notification with complete details will be released soon.
A press release has been shared on social media announcing tentative RRB ALP vacancies for 2025-26. The competent authority has approved the vacancies for the year 2025, paving the way for a massive recruitment drive. For candidates who missed the RRB ALP Recruitment last year, this would be the golden chance for them as generally, Railway don’t release notifications so frequently.
RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 Notice
Though the notice published is not officially uploaded to the official website, however a reply to the indent of vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs), for the notification which is expected to be published in 2025. The maximum number of vacancies is 1461 which are for East Coast Railway and the minimum is 100 for North Eastern Railway. Further, check the number of vacancies announced for all zonal railways from the attached notice.

RRB ALP 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2025-26, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have completed Matriculation / SSLC along with an ITI certificate in a relevant trade OR a Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution.
Age Limit:
The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.
RRB ALP 2025-26 Selection Process
The selection process for RRB ALP Recruitment 2025-26 consists of the following stages:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 1: This is a screening test covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness.
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 2: This stage consists of two parts:
- Part A: Covers Mathematics, Basic Science & Engineering, General Intelligence & Reasoning.
- Part B: Trade-specific questions based on the ITI or diploma syllabus.
Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Applicable only for ALP posts.
Document Verification & Medical Examination: Candidates who clear all CBTs and CBAT (if applicable) will be called for document verification and medical fitness tests.
