- For the first time, Bihar is hosting the Khelo India Youth Games from May 4 to May 15, with events scheduled in five districts- Patna, Nalanda (Rajgir), Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Begusarai.
- Over 8,500 athletes along with 1,500 technical officials from across the country will participate in competitions spanning 28 different sporting disciplines.
- The Prime Minister emphasised that a strong sporting culture has been fostered in India through government initiatives like Khelo India.
- Over a thousand Khelo India centres have been set up across the country to nurture young athletes.
- Traditional sports like Gatka, Kalaripayatu, and Kho Kho have been included under the Khelo India platform to ensure wider participation from rural talent.
