- South African batsman Heinrich Klaasen has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket with immediate effect.
- While, Glenn Maxwell has retired from One Day Internationals to focus on T20 cricket and the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
- Klaasen had earlier retired from Test cricket in January 2023 and has now quit ODI and T20I formats as well.
- During his career, Klaasen played 4 Tests, 60 ODIs and 58 T20Is for South Africa, scoring a total of 2764 runs.
- His retirement is considered a major blow for South Africa ahead of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which South Africa will co-host.
