- The central government has assigned interim charge to Satpal Bhanu as MD and CEO of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) for three months.
- The appointment comes after the completion of the tenure of Siddhartha Mohanty, who was the first to serve as MD and CEO after LIC's restructuring.
- As per a Finance Ministry notification on June 7, Bhanu has been given full financial and administrative powers for the role.
- His interim tenure will be effective from June 8 to September 7, 2025 or until further orders or permanent appointment.
- With over 30 years of experience in LIC, Bhanu served as Zonal Manager of LIC's Central Zone in Bhopal before becoming MD.
