• Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu launched the 'Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana' in Hamirpur.

• The scheme promotes community participation in environmental conservation and forest management.

• It aims to increase green cover by planting fruit trees on barren and wasteland forest lands.

• The programme also aims to generate employment and income for local communities.

• Women groups, youth organisations and self-help groups will participate in this effort.

• The Chief Minister also launched the 'Green Adoption Scheme'.
