- India's first green data centre is being set up in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Dr Jitendra Singh recently laid its foundation stone.
Key features of this green data centre:
Eco-friendly design: The data centre will use energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy sources and eco-friendly design.
Capacity: It will have a total capacity of 30 MW and will have up to 200 high-density racks on each floor.
Technical features: It will include features such as modular pods, smart cooling systems, reflective roofing and rainwater harvesting.
Connectivity: It will feature a 40 Gbps ring fibre network and dual 10 Gbps connections for cloud integration and disaster recovery.
Investment: An estimated investment of about Rs 1,000 crore is proposed in this project.
Partnership: The project is a joint initiative between Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Science & Technology, and ESDS.
