Format: The tournament will be played in a knockout format, with the losing player in each round being directly eliminated.

Number of Players: More than 200 players from all over the world will participate in this tournament.

Significance: This tournament serves as a major qualifier for the Candidates Tournament, which will provide three qualification places for the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament. The winner of the Candidates Tournament challenges the reigning World Chess Champion.

Host City: The host city has not been officially announced yet. However, one of the cities like Goa and Ahmedabad is likely to get the hosting rights. The All India Chess Federation (AICF) will soon announce the host city after approval from the government.
