  • The discovery was led by a team from Colorado-based Southwest Research Institute (SwRI).
  • The celestial body was identified through a series of long-exposure images taken on February 2, 2025.
  • The newly discovered moon has a diameter of only about 10 kilometers.
  • Nearly 40 years ago, Voyager 2 could not detect this moon while passing near Uranus.
  • Scientists believe that Uranus' satellite family now has 29 confirmed moons.
  • This new moon is the 14th member of a complex system of smaller moons orbiting the largest moons, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon.
