New CEO of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India

• Rajit Punhani took over as the Chief Executive Officer of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

• He is a 1991 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer.

• Punhani has over three decades of administrative experience at various levels.

• He previously served as Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

• He has also served as Secretary, Rajya Sabha and Chief Executive Officer, Sansad TV.
