P.V. Narasimha Rao Award

• The P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Award for Economics was conferred posthumously on the late former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

• The award recognises his role in India's economic reforms and his contribution to nation building.

• The award was received on his behalf by his wife, Smt. Gursharan Kaur in New Delhi.

• The award was presented by Montek Singh Ahluwalia, former Deputy Chairman, erstwhile Planning Commission and Distinguished Fellow, Centre for Social and Economic Progress.

• The Hyderabad-based P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Foundation (PVNMF) instituted the award for excellence in economics.
