- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually launched 'Samudra Pradakshina' on September 11, 2025.
- It is the world's first women tri-service sailing circumambulation expedition.
- It was inaugurated from the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
- The expedition includes 10 women officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force.
- These women officers will be on board the Indian Army's indigenous ship, IASV Triveni.
- The journey will last nine months and cover a distance of about 26,000 nautical miles.
- The crew will pass through major oceans. The crew will round Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn and Cape of Good Hope.
- The crew will cross the equator twice. Stops are planned at four international ports.
