Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025

  • On November 27, the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 (CDD) was inaugurated at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
  • General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, delivered the keynote address, outlining India's security challenges.
  • Organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies, the dialogue focuses on the national vision of a strong, secure, and developed India.
  • The Indian Army's comprehensive transformation roadmap was presented, including HOP 2032 for accelerated transformation, STEP 2037 for consolidation, and JUMP 2047 for integrated, next-generation force design.
  • The President emphasized the need for technologically capable and future-ready forces in new areas such as cyber, space, and cognitive warfare.
  • To promote indigenization and innovation, 75% of the capital procurement budget is now allocated to domestic industry.
