- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and IIT Roorkee to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE).
- The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) is a premier research and development center of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
- Under this MoU, C-DOT is establishing a Center of Excellence (CoE) at IIT Roorkee.
- This Center of Excellence will accelerate indigenous research, innovation, and capacity building in advanced communication technologies.
- Research will focus on wireless communications, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and AI applications.
- Joint research and prototype development will be conducted in 5G/6G, V2X communications, RF-sub-terahertz integrated circuits (ICs), and millimeter-wave antennas.
- This Center of Excellence will promote academia-industry collaboration by leveraging IIT Roorkee's expertise and C-DOT's industrial capabilities.
