An agreement has been signed between DRDO and the National Defence University to strengthen defence research and development.


  • On December 22, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) to enhance cooperation in the defence and internal security sectors.
  • The agreement was signed by Dr. Chandrika Kaushik, Distinguished Scientist and Director General (Production Coordination & Services Interaction) of DRDO, and Professor (Dr.) Bimal N Patel, Vice Chancellor of RRU.
  • Strengthening self-reliance in defence technologies has been identified as a key objective under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
  • This partnership envisions the integration of technological innovation, academic research, and operational expertise.
  • Both institutions will undertake joint research projects, doctoral programs, and fellowship initiatives.
