- The first Energy Innovation Awards ceremony, organized by the D.V. Kapoor Foundation, was held on December 12, 2025, at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi.
- Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, presented the awards to the winners.
- Former Union Minister and Chairman of the D.V. Kapoor Foundation, Dr. Suresh Prabhu, was also present at the ceremony.
- The awards were given in two categories. Category 1 was for young innovators under the age of 38.
- Category 2 was for individuals or organizations for technological innovation.
- Dr. Achu Chandran won the Category 1 award for his research in the field of 'nano-electric generators'. He is a Principal Scientist at CSIR-NIIST.
- He received a certificate of appreciation, a trophy, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.
