New Director General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER)

• India's leading economic policy think tank, the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), has announced the appointment of Suresh Goyal as its new Director General.

• His term will be effective from January 5, 2026. This appointment comes at a time when India is placing a strong emphasis on evidence-based policymaking to achieve its long-term development goals.

• He has over 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors.

• He is the former Managing Director and CEO of the National Highways Infra Trust (NHIT).
