9th Siddha Day

• The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, celebrated the 9th Siddha Day on January 3, 2026, at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai.

• The Ministry of AYUSH organized the event in collaboration with the National Institute of Siddha (NIS), the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), and the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu.

• The theme of the celebration was "Siddha Medicine for Global Health."

• The event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sage Agastya.

• Sage Agastya is considered the father of Siddha medicine.

• Siddha Day is celebrated annually on January 6th to mark the birth anniversary of Sage Agastya.

• The 9th Siddha Day celebration will be presided over and inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan.
