Khanjar Exercise

  • The 13th edition of Exercise Khanjar commenced on February 4, 2026, in Missamari, Sonitpur district of Assam.
  • Khanjar is a joint military exercise between India and Kyrgyzstan. It will last for fourteen days.
  • Its objective is to enhance coordination and interoperability between the special forces of both countries.
  • Its main focus is on joint operations in urban warfare and counter-terrorism scenarios under the United Nations mandate.
  • This exercise will further strengthen bilateral defense cooperation between India and Kyrgyzstan.
  • Personnel from the Parachute Regiment of India and the Scorpion Brigade of Kyrgyzstan are participating in the exercise.
  • India and Kyrgyzstan have been conducting joint military exercises annually since 2011.
