- Ashwini Vaishnaw announced five new reforms under the "52 Reforms in 52 Weeks" initiative.
- The ticket cancellation process has been simplified. If a ticket is cancelled more than 72 hours prior to the train's departure, only a minimum prescribed fee will be applicable.
- For tickets cancelled between 72 and 24 hours prior to the train's departure, a 25% deduction in fare will apply.
- If a ticket is cancelled between 24 and 8 hours prior to the train's departure, passengers will receive a 50% refund.
- No refund will be provided for tickets cancelled less than 8 hours prior to the train's departure.
- Tickets purchased at counters can now be cancelled at any railway station across India.
- Passengers can now change their boarding station up to 30 minutes prior to the train's departure.
