Ayushman Bharat Day

• Ayushman Bharat Diwas is observed annually on April 30th.

• This day is dedicated to honoring the achievements of India's flagship healthcare scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

• Launched in 2018, this scheme has significantly improved access to affordable and accessible healthcare services across the country.

• Under this initiative, eligible families are provided with cashless medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh annually. The scheme currently extends health coverage to over 107.4 million families—encompassing approximately 500 million people.

• This day also highlights India's goal of 'Universal Health Coverage,' which aims to provide quality medical care to every citizen without imposing a financial burden, thereby ensuring that no individual is deprived of healthcare services.
