Panchayat Development Index (PAI) 2.0 Report Released

  • On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the ‘Panchayat Advancement Index’ (PAI) 2.0 report.
  • This report highlights the accelerated pace of development in rural India, with 3,635 Gram Panchayats emerging as ‘Front Runners.’
  • With a record participation rate of 97.3% from across the country, ‘India PAI 2.0’ has emerged as a comprehensive assessment report that showcases ground-level improvements in key sectors such as livelihoods, health, good governance, and social development.
  • This index presents a detailed assessment of the state of rural governance across the nation.
  • It encompasses over 259,000 Gram Panchayats across 33 States and Union Territories, making it one of India’s largest data-driven governance assessments.
