  • Dhanendra Kumar, a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the first Chairperson of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), passed away on May 28, 2026.
  • He sustained critical injuries following a fire incident at his residence in the Hauz Khas Enclave area of ​​South Delhi. As his condition deteriorated due to smoke inhalation, he was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
