- The 'International Yoga and Meditation Festival 2026' is being organized across Ladakh from June 15 to June 21, 2026, to mark the 12th International Yoga Day.
- This week-long festival includes various events at Leh, Siachen Base Camp, and Pangong Lake.
- The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. The first International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2015, and the day is associated with the physical, mental, and spiritual practice of yoga.
- The 2026 edition of the festival was inaugurated by Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra on June 16, 2026, at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre in Leh.
- The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh, and the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre organized a seminar on June 18, 2026, on the theme "Integration of Yoga for Public Health."
