- Meanwhile, Joy Prakash Das was appointed as the Deputy Leader of the Legislature Party. Subsequently, the Congress party submitted a formal proposal to the Assembly Speaker nominating a candidate for the post of Leader of the Opposition.
- With the Speaker's approval, Wazed Ali Choudhury has assumed the responsibility of leading the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly and will now play a pivotal role on behalf of the Opposition within the House.
