  • The 31st Divya Kala Mela was inaugurated on July 14, 2026, at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, with the aim of promoting the creativity, skills, and entrepreneurship of persons with disabilities at the national level. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar inaugurated the fair.
  • Scheduled from July 14 to July 22, 2026, this eight-day fair provides entrepreneurs with disabilities an opportunity to showcase and market their products and gain access to a wider market.
  • This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering the economic empowerment, self-reliance, dignified livelihood, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
  • The Divya Kala Mela was launched in December 2022. Its objective is to provide national-level recognition and market access for handicrafts, artworks, handmade products, and other creative items crafted by persons with disabilities.
  • Through this platform, entrepreneurs with disabilities not only showcase their talent but also gain new opportunities for self-employment and economic self-reliance.
  • The fair has been successfully organized in several major cities across the country—including Srinagar, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Ahmedabad, and Patna—emerging as an effective national platform for encouraging entrepreneurship among persons with disabilities.
