India's first paperless assembly


  • Nagaland became the first state with a paperless assembly in the country.
  • The National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) program has been implemented to make the State Legislative Assembly completely paperless.
  • Now Nagaland has become the first state to have the distinction of having a paperless assembly.
  • Neva NIC Cloud is a work-flow system deployed on Meghraj.
  • It helps the Speaker of the House to conduct the proceedings of the House smoothly and to conduct the Legislative business of the House in a paperless manner.
  • The Nagaland Assembly Secretariat has attached a tablet or e-book to each table in the 60-member assembly amid the ongoing budget session.
