- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technical cooperation between the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in New Delhi and National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC), Hyderabad, ISRO, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, was signed on this MoU.
- NRSC will develop the Bhuvan-Aadhaar portal providing information and location information about Aadhaar centers spread across the country.
- The portal also provides the facility to locate the respective Aadhaar centers based on the requirements of the residents.
- Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) established on 12th July, 2016 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India under the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (Aadhaar Act, 2016) is a statutory authority.
- UIDAI has so far issued Aadhaar numbers to over 132 crore residents and facilitates over 60 crore residents who have updated their Aadhaar.
